  • Mike Hornsby

    MRICS CMaPS

    Director

    Mike, a Director, is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Chartered Project Manager, and Certified Member of the Association of Project Safety.

    Mike’s extensive experience in housing spans over 30 years. He has served as a Board Member at ClwydAlyn Housing, including time as Chairman, and is well placed to advise Housing Associations on delivery of their programmes. Mike is also a MAMIL (Middle Aged Man In Lycra) and chairman of his local cycle club.

  • Ian Johnson

    BSc (Hons) MCIOB AaPS

    Director

    Ian has been a Director of Markhams since 2012, and has been providing Quantity Surveying, Employer’s Agent and Principal Designer services for Markhams since 2005.

    He is a Chartered Construction Manager and Member of the Chartered Institute of Building.

    Ian is a certified “Star Warsian” and a fan of all things 80’s, and like many of his colleagues he’s an avid follower, and Season Ticket holder, of Everton FC.

  • Anthony Conroy

    BSc (Hons) MRICS AaPS

    Director

    Anthony started working at Markhams in early 2004 and was appointed as a Director in April 2018. He is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and an RICS APC Assessor.

    Anthony lives for spending time with his young family, doing a bit of swimming and going to the match to watch the mighty Everton FC.

    Anthony also has a keen interest in Geography and different cultures. He plans to visit as many places as possible during his life.

  • Kevin Taylor

    BSc (Hons) AaPS

    Director

    Kevin is a Director and provides Employer’s Agent and Principal Designer services on the full range of housing projects. Kevin has extensive experience and his love of spreadsheets is well known. He is part of the Quality Management Team which helped Markhams obtain and retain ISO9001.

    ”No Socks Kevin” is admired for his dress style. As a season ticket holder of Everton FC he spends his weekends either watching The Mighty Blues, or on the side-lines of a wet Sunday League pitch, watching his kids…always with a coffee in hand.

  • Elaine Carr

    BSc (Hons) MRICS AaPS

    Director

    Elaine is a Director and Chartered Surveyor, overseeing the development of the Graduate Surveyors, acting as Counsellor guiding them through the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence.

    Elaine has extensive experience in new build, refurbishment, remodelling and conversions as well as one-off projects on listed buildings.

    Elaine has become a fitness fanatic and is either running or training most days. Elaine also loves horses and generally all animals, just ask Stan, her dog.

  • Howard Lightfoot

    BSc (Hons) MRICS

    Associate Director

    Howard provides Quantity Surveying, Employer’s Agent and Principal Designer services on behalf of Markhams and has been an Associate or Associate Director for most of his time with us.

    Green fingered Howard spends his weekends down on his allotment, away from the hustle and bustle, tending to his vegetables.

    It’s not all bliss and harmony though as when he isn’t singing for his supper, he enjoys listening to a wide variety of music and attending concerts.

  • Colin Barry

    BSc (Hons) MRICS AaPS

    Associate Director

    Colin is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Employer’s Agent. Colin has experience in the construction industry across a wide range of sectors including Housing, Private Residential, Commercial & Renewable Energy.

    Colin is an Everton fan and a strictly fair-weather golfer who has a penchant for teeing off in sunnier climes in shorts – rather than in the UK in his fully rainproof kit (which to this day remains bone dry).

    An ardent boxing fan but fortunately he has not had to transfer those Queensbury Rules to any contract discussions to date.

  • Gerald Begley

    Associate Director

    Ged is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor. providing a full range of services. He is also an APC Counsellor with the aim of guiding our Graduates through to full Chartership.

    Ged is a Manchester United fan, which means he is surrounded working in Liverpool, luckily by good friends.

    Ged’s a keen Golfer, but it’s to be noted that the downturn in United’s form and the improvement in his Golf swing is purely coincidental and nothing to do with frustration being transferred to additional hours on the Golf Course.

  • Daniel Marsh

    BSc (Hons) MSc MRICS AaPS

    Senior Surveyor

    Daniel is a Senior Surveyor and has been with Markhams since 2020 and achieving Chartered status in 2022. Daniel has provided Employer’s Agent and Principal Designer services across a number of sectors and particularly enjoys working on Extra Care facilities and Residential Apartments.

    Daniel is the Office Gourmet and can always be relied on for a good restaurant recommendation, at home or abroad.

    Daniel also enjoys spending time with his young family, going on holiday and taking his dog, Toffee, out for long walks.

  • Dan Prescott

    BSc (Hons)

    Senior Surveyor

    Dan is a Senior Surveyor providing Quantity Surveying and Employer’s Agent services. Dan has experience working across a variety of sectors, including residential, commercial, heritage and leisure.

    Away from the office, Dan embraces the freedom of the open road on his motorbike, always chasing that elusive British sunshine.

    Dan is a Liverpool fan but also holds a soft spot for his local team, Wrexham. Dan is hoping to one day see both “Red’s” face up in the Premier League, although he hasn’t commented on what side of the fence he would be sitting.

  • Stacey Marshall

    BA (Hons) MSc

    Assistant Surveyor

    Stacey is an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, who is attending Liverpool John Moores University studying a master’s degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management.

    Stacey is involved in the Women in Property Network and is an advocate for getting more young women in to construction through school engagement visits and various networking events.

    Outside of work, Stacey enjoys spending time with family, and going on a variety of holidays – whether it be camping in Glastonbury, a city break, clubbing in Ibiza, or a relaxing beach holiday, the suitcase is never too far away and the passport is at the ready.

  • Brandon Heald

    Assistant Surveyor

    Brandon is an Assistant Surveyor at Markhams and a student at Liverpool John Moores University, pursuing a degree in Quantity Surveying through Markhams’ apprenticeship programme.

    Brandon actively engages in the wider construction community. He serves as the Student Representative at LJMU, is the Campus Ambassador for RICS, and a Board Member for both Constructing Excellence and G4C.

    Brandon enjoys reading Psychology and Natural Science books, as well as supporting Stoke City, despite disappointments on match days.

  • Kian Malone

    Apprentice Surveyor

    Kian is an Apprentice Surveyor who started in the summer of 2024 after enjoying his time with the company on work experience during his last year of school.

    Kian is currently pursuing a degree In Quantity Surveying at Liverpool John Moores University through Markhams degree apprenticeship programme.

    Kian is an avid football fan and has had a season ticket at Everton for over 10 years. Kian is also a self confessed “Potterhead” and his favourite character is Sirius Black, although he sees himself as more of a conformist and firmly placed in the Gryffindor house should he have attended Hogwarts.

  • Nancy Keeton

    Trainee Surveyor

    Nancy joined Markhams in June 2025 as a ‘Year Out’ placement student on the Quantity Surveying degree at LJMU.

    Nancy has a knack for numbers and spreadsheets and is keen to put this in to practice in a working environment.

    Outside of work Nancy enjoys acting, dancing, and signing, a talent that has seen her perform at St Helens Theatre Royal.

    Whilst these talents have helped Nancy improve key communication, teamwork and leadership skills she is hoping that life at Markhams will be slightly less dramatic.

  • Paul Skelly

    MICWCI AaPS

    Managing Clerk of Works

    With over 40 years in the construction industry, from apprentice joiner to Senior Production Manager, Paul brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team and is a Member of the Institute of Clerk of Works and Construction Inspectorate.

    When he is not on site, he enjoys weekends away in his camper van with his wife and dog, running the odd 10k, and scuba diving.

    He has had to endure over 50 years of pain with his other passion, following Preston North End, and he hopes one day to see his team in the topflight but thinks his team’s motto is “ It’s the hope that kills you “

  • Ian Harrison

    ACIOB AaPS

    Clerk of Works

    Ian is a highly experienced former Construction Director with over 30 years in the construction industry. Ian has a keen eye for detail and a proven track record in managing large-scale projects, leading teams, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

    Ian’s years of experience in running and managing sites puts him in the ideal position to carry out his role as Clerk of Works to ensure that work is carried out to the Client’s high quality standards.

    Ian lists his hobbies outside of work as “construction and building” and so when he isn’t on the clock, he is usually still in full PPE and getting his hands dirty.

  • Kevin Musselle

    Clerk of Works

    Kevin is an extremely knowledgeable construction professional with over 40 years of experience.

    Kevin has worked his way right through the ranks of the industry from apprentice Joiner, through Contracts Manager and on to Director in a previous life.

    Kevin’s knowledge of all forms of construction and his previous role as a Principal Contractor ensure that he is able to deliver a high quality Clerk of Works service for our Clients.

    Away from construction, like many at Markhams, Kevin is a keen Evertonian…we’ve all got our faults I suppose.

  • Rob Elder

    AaPS

    Clerk of Works

    Rob joined Markhams in 2025, as Clerk of Works, and is a highly experienced construction professional with over 30 years in the industry.

    Rob has managed projects in residential and social housing, overseeing refurbishments and new builds. He has strong client-facing skills, extensive site management experience, and a keen focus on quality, health, and safety.

    Rob’s time spent as Site Manager gives him the ability to be able to see things from both sides of the fence and ensure that the quality of both materials and workmanship are in accordance with the contract and meeting the Client’s high standards.

  • Cheryl Ledder

    Office Administrator

    Cheryl is an experienced Office Administrator with strong organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring smooth operations and providing valuable support to the whole of the Markhams team.  

    Outside of work, she enjoys spending time and making memories with family and friends, and her dog Bodhi.

    A keen gardener, Cheryl also has a passion for football, darts and follows British Superbikes.
